This extraordinary technological creation has so made life easier for a lot of people including professionals, the business community, housewives and scholars even for banking purposes. Notwithstanding, this new communication phenomenon people have not stopped patronizing the usual off line banks .

The orthodox banks will always be there for those people who still choose to interact in an real bank in where they see staff and call them by name. The banks that have gone online and their offline counterpart have their advantages and disadvantages. It's up to you to consider and decide whether to transact your financial affairs with either an online bank or an off line one .

The fact is that a lot of people are now online with financial products that are internet-only services meant to compete with the normal off line banks . Though these conservative banks cater mainly to their old customers, people who should know are advising them to also open online offices to serve the internet-savvy young people and by so doing attract more customersSecurity and person to person interactions are the main reasons people maintain the use of traditional banks.

A lot of people feel that human contact is a necessity in any bank transaction; they want to hand their hard earned cash over to real teller.Banking online is quite the same as when you do the same thing in an offline bank.

The significant dissimilarity is that your computer replaces paper or phone for accessing your account information for payments and statements reconciliations . A principal advantage that internet banking offers people who go for online banking is cost effectiveness. Certain banks are known to charge their customers lower fees if the bank online banking services.

--- ----- ------- Forex Beginner------------------------------------------------------------- Learn the Simple Forex Market-----------
Forex trading is a market which is both complex and simple. How to make money is the simple part, but the implementation of the process to learn forex market can be a little difficult. Forex education can prove to be a boon for all those who are willing to try their luck in forex trading.

Therefore it is very important for them to understand the ways and methods of forex trading before actually getting into it. Even if one is well experienced in trading, there is always a room for improvement even for the experts. The forex market is surely not a game for a fresher in this field and they need to improve their skills before getting their hands wet.

The fact is that many individuals who make money online keep losing money in the forex market and very few are earning millions annually. This major difference is caused by two main reasons, namely, forex trading skills and the trading system being used.Forex trading gives a whole new option to the beginners to succeed financially.

To learn Forex market and list Forex trading into one of your financial plans is a must. When an investor adapts the right trading skills, the limit to earn profits is left far behind. In other words there is no such limit defined to earn profits if the trading skills are absolutely apt.

There are many trading systems that provide you with the facility of making money online. But what is required by us is to identify and understand that which one will suit the best to our requirement.

1. Note the values of the currencies

2. Know the trend ending time

3. Affect of current economy

4. Use of long term trading strategiesTo succeed at currency trading, one needs to learn the right forex trading strategy which can be possible if and only if the traders follow these winning tips and to move ahead and reap huge benefits or profits.

---Automated Forex Trading System-----------
The Forex MegaDroid is an automated Forex trading robot This was specifically designed to function in all market environments. Which isexactly why its performance during testing was close to the highest we have everwitnessed.

The facts are clear and un-debatable on this issue, the market canmake unexpected moves at the drop of a hat and having a weapon in your arsenalable to react instantly to those corrections and profit from them at the sametime, puts you in a very powerful position. Because of this we were forced togive it our highest rating possible, a 10 out of 10.

This item is not to beunderestimated and MUST be in your final decision making process when makingyour purchasing decision. This Forex robot uses a cool new technology known as Correlated Time and PriceAnalysis (RCTPA). What this does is helps the robot make trades in the presentby quickly calculating years of similar looking market conditions in the past.

The Forex market like any other will follow specific patterns and Mega Droidwill use years of back testing to profit from those patterns. Now the hallmark of Forex Mega Droid and why it is creating such hype is thefact that the program is the first Forex robot to have artificial intelligence(AI).

What this means is instead of simply taking the same trades over and over,if one trade is a loser the robot will learn from the experience. It will then factor in why that trade was a loser and use that valuable information for latertrades.

This Automated Forex Robot is incredibly valuable because the problem with mostForex robots is they stop working after a certain amount of time. ForexMegaDroid learns from it's mistakes and is constantly adapting to marketconditions.

A high win percentage with minimal losses are the signs of anEXCELLENT automated software. Before jumping in I recommend learning a little more about the program. But there is an awful lot to be excited about with this one.

3. Work Smart Not Hard You don't need to work hard just get the right Forex information and that should only take you a couple of weeks at most and your all set.

4. Keep Your Strategy Simple Simple trading strategies work best as they are more robust than complex ones, with fewer elements to break, so keep your system simple.

Make Bigger Profits by Following These Key Points- -----

Forex charts are a great, time efficient and proven way to make bigger profits but most traders don't use them correctly and here we will give you some key points to help you make bigger profits... Let's look at some key points for more profitable technical analysis with forex charts.

If you look at any forex chart you will see big trends that can last for many months and trend following these can be very profitable and if you want to make money out of them you must understand this key fact:

Most big trends start and continue from breakouts to new highs and lows on the chart and you must go with these breaks - most traders don't.

They want to wait for the pullback and of course it never comes and they are left behind. While it appears like you have missed the first part of the move, the odds of continuation are high so go with them.

Always be patient when using forex charts. You don't get rewarded for your efforts or how many times you trade but being right with your trading signal.

I know traders who trade just a few times a month yet make triple digit gains - so wait for the right opportunities. When you have a trend you want to hit always check price momentum is on your side and make sure that you use momentum indicators that show price acceleration in the direction you wish to trade.

Two great ones, you can learn, in about 30 minutes are - the stochastic and RSI. These two combined will increase your odds of success by getting the odds more on your side.

Never believe anyone who tells you there is a mathematical formula for market movement - there isn't. If of course there was, we would all know the price in advance and there would be no market. So forget trying to predict and only trade the reality of price.

Its probabilities that you need to understand and like a successful poker player, you won't win every hand - but if you keep trading the odds, you will win long term.

When using forex charts, the simpler your forex trading method the better, as simple systems tend to be very robust and have fewer elements to break, than complicated ones. I have used a simple breakout method which uses trend lines, RSI and the stochastic and made money with it for over 20 years sure, it's simple but it works.

Forex charts give you the reality of price before your eyes and you can spot areas of over valuation and under valuation. Humans create trends and they also (due to their emotions) push trends to far up or down in either direction. You can of course ride trends - but you will also see big price spikes and history tells you they don't last long and taking trades contrary to the majority can be very profitable.

Charting is an art not a science and you need to practice your art. The successful captain of a ship uses charts to navigate safely, but he also knows that use them wrongly and he will drown and it's a very similar situation in forex.

The Good NewsYou can learn forex charting in around 2 weeks and soon be piling up big profits in around 30 minutes a day spotting and hitting high odds trades and enjoying great profits.

The good news is forex trading and using technical analysis is a learned skill and one you can master with a little practice

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Factors to consider---------

The value of a country's currency is influenced by a number of factors: The economics of the country, its trade deficit, political and social environment. If the current government's deficit increases, its currency's value will fall.

As the government decreases its deficit, the currency can begin to recover value and the exchange rate will become more favorable. The same relationship holds true with a country's trade deficit.

If the country imports more goods and services than it exports it will have a negative influence on the currency.Inflation lessens the ability of a unit of currency to buy less and less, so the currency loses value.

If the inflation becomes rampant the currency is valued less because it's also viewed as unstable. As the rate of inflation begins to decline the currency begins to increase in value.Politics and social changes can play havoc with the currency exchange rates. Changes in the regime that are viewed negatively can lower the value of the country's currency in the short term and continue into the long term.

If the present government makes decisions that are looked at negatively it can decrease the currency value as well. The opposite can happen. Current government officials can make policy changes that are viewed positively by the rest of the world and that can increase the value of the currency.

For the United States, interest rates and the price of oil can have a major impact on the value of the US dollar.Interest rates effect how much it's going to cost to borrow money and how much can be earned on investments. Historically if the US raises its interest rates it attracts foreign investors.

Those investors have to sell their own currency in order to buy U.S. dollars to purchase treasury bonds. If the interest begins to drop, or the perception is that the rates won't rise any more, investors may purchase Euros as an alternative investment which lowers the value of the US dollar.

The United States is dependent on foreign oil production. Many US industries are dependent on oil and an increase in the price of oil means an increase in their expenses and a drop in profits. In a similar way, a country's dependency on oil influences how the country's currency is valued and will be impacted by changes in oil prices.

The US's dependency on oil makes the dollar more sensitive to oil prices than countries who aren't so dependent. As the price of oil increases the value of the dollar drops.

---The Euro Bull---------------------------------------
New Paradigm of FOREX--------------------------------
As the EUR/USD breaks 1.50, investors should take another look at foreign exchange. 100/barrel oil, $1,000 gold, and $10/bushel wheat are not anomalies, nor is there a bull market in commodities.

The US dollar is losing its value and its relevance as a world reserve currency. What determines the value of a dollar? The common belief is that purchasing power determines the value of money, which is partially correct, but that is not the entire story.

In a world of floating currencies, money is also valued in terms of other money. Simply opening a bank account in Europe, and gaining a few % per annum interest, would have returned a US based investor over a 50% return in 5 years.

There are a few ways to look at that, but they all point to the same conclusion: the value of the dollar is declining. The other logical observation is that by NOT investing in the Euro, an investor is actually LOSING 50%. This is a difficult mental leap for many to make as they don't see losses in their bank account, but as we see $4/gallon gas, $3/gallon milk and skyrocketing commodity prices, many are noticing.

They only have to realize the simple fact: prices are not increasing the value of US Dollars is declining.Who is not affected by a declining dollar? The poor, debtors, manual laborers, and tradesmen (because you can continue to perform your trade for dollars, pesos, or bananas if need be regardless of the continuing slide of the dollar tomorrow you may charge twice as much but so what?)

But if you have any wealth; a house or a stock portfolio, denominated in dollars, the declining US Dollar should be the most important issue to you because that portfolio is losing value as the dollar does.

In the worst case scenario, the Fed can default making US Dollars worthless overnight. Best case, although unlikely it should be mentioned, the Fed could raise rates to 10%, Bush could declare a flat tax, open the borders to foreign investors by deregulation and providing tax incentives, pull out US Military from all foreign engagements, and be the banker of the world.

This would catapult the US economy and the US Dollar to currently unimaginable success, but this is a farfetched fantasy. In reality, we are increasing our Military presence around the world, cutting interest rates, and regulating US markets, forcing even homegrown companies to look abroad.

Let's examine why the dollar is declining and what can potentially stop the decline. The largest player in the US Dollar is clearly the Fed, the sole issuer of the US Dollar. Investment Banks and Hedge Funds, at the end of the day, rely on the Fed for regulation, clearing, liquidity, and currency controls; they are distributors and traders of US Dollars not the manufacturer.

It clearly states on the Fed's website that the Fed conducts foreign currency operations in the open market, and maintains US holdings of foreign currency and swaps. This would indicate the Fed has the ability to intervene in currency markets in order to protect the strength of the dollar, and although the Fed may have that ability, it states in the same article that:US monetary policy actions influence exchange rates.

The dollar's exchange value in terms of other currencies is therefore one of the channels through which U.S. monetary policy affects the U.S. economy. If Federal Reserve actions raised U.S. interest rates, for instance, the foreign ex-change value of the dollar generally would rise.

An increase in the foreign exchange value of the dollar, in turn, would raise the price in foreign currency of U.S. goods traded on world markets and lower the dollar price of goods imported into the United States. By restraining exports and boosting imports, these developments could lower output and price levels in the economy.

In contrast, an increase in interest rates in a foreign country could raise worldwide demand for assets denominated in that country's currency and thereby reduce the dollar's value in terms of that currency. Other things being equal, U.S. output and price levels would tend to increase must the opposite of what happens when U.S. interest rates rise.

The Fed therefore officially controls exchange rates of the US Dollar through Monetary Policy. The Fed, in response to a weakening US economy and a Subprime crisis, has taken an aggressive policy of cutting interest rates, thus dropping the dollar. So we cannot expect the Fed to solve the weak dollar issue, because they are the creators of it!

The Fed could start aggressively raising interest rates and we could see the dollar soar to new highs. But there is a low chance of that happening, as they have indicated the contrary. As the credit crisis unravels, we can expect the Fed to continue cutting rates.

With a weak stock market, a weak real estate market, and a weak economy, we can expect more doom and gloom before we see the light at the end of the tunnel, and in the meantime the US Dollar can sink another 80% or more, as the Great British Pound did when it lost its status as reserve currency.

Technically, once a downward spiral starts in currency, it is very difficult to stop. In stocks, an issuer can buy back shares in order to dry up liquidity and stabilize the price; a common practice among penny stocks listed on pink sheets.

However if the US Dollar declines, the Fed would need Euros in order to buy back US Dollars, and since the Fed is not an issuer of Euros, it would take a near act of God to convince the ECB to loan the trillions necessary to support the dollar in the event of a default or run on the banks.

While the Fed does have some mechanisms in place to stabilize the markets, the act of supporting your own currency is like pulling yourself out of a sinkhole by your own hair. Once the selling starts, it could feed on itself and create a downward spiral as the value goes down more large holders, worried about further losses, may panic and sell, thus adding fuel to the fire.

It would be anything but capitalism if we didn't profit from this once in a lifetime opportunity of a declining dollar. On one hand, wealth will be wiped out en masse on the other, it will be created. A transfer of paper wealth from USD to Euro and other currencies is inevitable; why be on the wrong side of the fence? Germans, Argentineans, Japanese, French, British, Italians,

Turks, and many others, can attest to the events surrounding currency collapse and hyper inflation. They say it cannot happen to USA because of the TBTF Too Big to Fail Policy, a fallacious reasoning that came out of a Senate hearing on banking regulation. All the facts and economic data point to massive dollar sell-off look at a USD/CHF chart and you can plainly see it has already started.

FX as an asset classThere are many ways to invest in FX as an asset, but this should be done only with the help of a qualified professional or someone with experience in FX. Everbank offers foreign currency CD's and foreign currency deposit accounts:

https://www.everbank.com/ This will not excite most investors but at least you can have non-dollar denominated deposits insured by the FDIC.For a more versatile approach, CTA's offer FOREX Managed Accounts, usually with minimums starting at $10,000.
These accounts are pure FX trading strategies, some are extremely conservative and others are extremely aggressive. Various strategies can be implemented on these accounts which vary from simple news and economic analysis by traders with 20 years experience, to fully automated quant systems.

Funds such as the MERK hard currency fund offer FX specific returns as a mutual fund. From their
website: http://www.merkfund.com/ The Merk Hard Currency Fund (MERKX) is a no-load mutual fund that invests in a basket of hard currencies from countries with strong monetary policies assembled to protect against the depreciation of the U.S. dollar relative to other currencies.

Many consumers are aware of the falling dollar but don't know how to protect their capital against its decline. Others are uncomfortable choosing specific foreign currencies to invest in or investing in currency derivatives.

The Fund may serve as a valuable diversification component as it seeks to protect against a decline in the dollar while potentially mitigating stock market, credit and interest risks-with the ease of investing in a mutual fund.

The Fund may be appropriate for you if you are pursuing a long-term goal with a hard currency component to your portfolio; are willing to tolerate the risks associated with investments in foreign currencies; or are looking for a way to potentially mitigate downside risk in or profit from a secular bear market.

Hedge Funds are another venue for FX investing, but they typically have a $1 Million minimum and employ risky strategies. FX OverlayIf a business or portfolio has exposure to multiple currencies, a hedging program can be implemented that combines multiple strategies to deal with currency risk.

Large corporations such as Intel may have their own treasury desks, but smaller companies or financial firms may not have the resources or knowledge in place to justify such programs, however there are many companies who offer this service, or it could be built using proven models from the ground up.

FX as an industryExplosive growth opportunities exist in the FX industry as US based investors take notice. The real opportunity in FX is in marketing, because of the widespread lack of knowledge about FX. Sadly, you don't need to know much to make a fortune in this field, and it's the marketers that will ultimately make the most, as they introduce an uneducated and unenlightened public into the most significant market of our age.

What will out of work real-estate developers do as the market continues to weaken?Beware FX Scams!Because FX is completely deregulated, FX attracts many criminals. The allure of a secretive market only traded by large banks makes a good pitch to unsuspecting suckers.

However there are a few easy ways to determine scams from the real thing, such as the NFA, CFTC, SEC, or by dealing with only companies and individuals who associate themselves with large FX firms who are registered with the NFA. The fact that FX attracts criminals doesn't diminish the opportunities in FX any more than the movie oiler Room proves that all stock brokers are cocaine snorting crooks.

This article is by no means exhaustive nor is it intended to be. Regarding bias on the topic, considering we are in this business, the fact that these opportunities exist, and the fact that dollar is declining, is why we ARE in this business and not in stocks or bonds. A day may come where FX is the only significant market left in the world, as domestic exchanges are ravaged by reckless monetary policies and rogue political administrations.

In the meantime, protect yourself against calamity and position yourself to capitalize on the opportunity of a lifetime. If you aren't familiar with Elite E Services,
we recommended buying Gold at 279 and investing in New Zealand Dollars in 2002 when the NZD/USD was .39. George Soros made his fortune trading currencies, not selling stocks. In the mid-1990's, Intel made more money in FX than selling processors.

----Trend Following System - Building a System For Triple Digit Annual Gains---------
Forex markets trend long term, they always have and they always will as long as we have a free market and the big trends which reflect the underlying economic cycle can last for many weeks, months or even years. If you learn to trend follow correctly you can make huge long term profits in around 30 minutes a day...

Many traders like to trade the market noise and trade short term but this is doomed to failure, as all short term volatility is random. If you trade the big trends you get better odds, more profits and spend less time on your trading. Lets look at trend following in more detail.

If you want to succeed at Forex trend following, you should keep the key points in mind below when formulating your Forex trading strategy.

Simple and Robust-- The best trend following systems are simple and it's a fact that in Forex simple systems work better than complex ones, as they have fewer elements to break than complex ones. A graphic example of this is the free one we have on this site which has only one rule yet, test it and you will see how much money it makes.

A Successful trend following system can be based on just looking at support and resistance and have a few indictors to confirm your view and that will work just fine.

Use Breakouts All big trends start and continue from breakouts to new market highs or lows so if you are considering trend following, breakout methodology should be used in your Trading strategy.

Breakouts are simple to understand and simply trade the reality of price change and trading breakouts is a highs odds way of trading Forex.

Trade Infrequently ----
I know traders that trade maybe once or twice a month and make triple digit gains and that's because they focus on the best high odds trades. You get nothing for effort in Forex trading, you're judged purely on results and if you are patient and wait for the best set ups you will increase your odds of success and reduce your work rate.

Acceptance of Short Term Volatility -----
If you are tend following in Forex you are after trends that last for weeks, months or even years and you have to accept that you cannot predict tops or bottoms, you always have to give a bit back at the end of a trend and you also have to accept short term drawdown in equity against you as you follow the trend. Long term trend following, requires patience and discipline but if you caught just 60% of every major trend, you would make a lot of money

---Forex Trading Signal----
- A Free Simple to Understand Equation Which Makes Big Profits----
Here we are going to look at a free Forex trading signal that makes big gains and has done for over 25 years and is used by some of the world's top traders in their Forex trading strategies. Let's take a look at it.

The signal doesn't even need trading software to generate it, you can actually do it in your head. The signal is credited to famous trader Richard Donchain who is considered the grandfather of modern trend following and he called it the four week Rule and this is the rule

1. When prices move to a new 4 month high buy a currency and hold it.

2. Wait for a new 4 week low to occur, liquidate the long and take a short position.

3. Always maintain a position long or short in the market and simply reverse on each new 4 week high or low. The above rule could not be simpler but it works and if you test it, you will see how much money it makes and the reason it works is because it works on two pieces of logic which will never go out of date and there the following,

1. Markets trend up or down for sustained periods of time.

2. All major trends start and continue from major breakouts This system over the long term, will catch a good chunk of profit from every major trend but despite the fact it works most traders won't use it for the following reasons:

1. They prefer the get rich quick route and buy a cheap automated software package with no independent verification of gains instead, the above Forex trading signal is proven and has a real track record over a quarter of a century.

2. It takes discipline to follow as its long term and traders have a problem with holding long term trends, they think trading frequently means more profits and its clear this is not true.

3. Most traders simply pass it buy because they think a signal so simple cant work but of course all the best systems are simple because they are so robust.

The 4 Week Rule, as stood the test of time and any trader can use it to seek Forex trading success. In the next article in this series we will look at how to add filters to the above trading signal to make it even more effective and also look at some of Richard Donchian's other Forex trading tools.

---Signs a Stock is Set to Plummet-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody has said it in so many words, but we are at the closing stages of the recession. In a time when the market is going to rise and fall as it stabilizes, it is central to recognize when a stock is about to stagger. Everyone knows the essentials. Pass up investing in companies that create sub par earnings, has frail cash flow, or a less than ample balance sheet.

On the other hand, there are other nasty characteristics a stock can retain that will drop it into the toilet in rainy economic weather. Keep an eye out for these other symptoms that illustrate an landslide ahead. It is not uncommon for a company to reduce their earnings guidance.

That can happen for a number of typical reasons that happen in the cycle a company goes through: slightly dropped earnings, a damaged economy, etc. Just make certain that the corporation in question clears the bar they set in that quarter. Why is that? Of course you are more concerned about the value of the stock than the revenue earned from them.

Regrettably, some shareholders, particularly those with controlling interest are so worried about the revenue coming in and the performance of the company that value will go downward as people sell for poorer and lower prices to get out if they do not have faith in the supervision of the corporation.

It is also not unusual for insiders at a company to sell off some shares, particularly if life changes they are undertaking involve quick funds. Other times, you may be looking at an insider that just wants to make some speedy income or vary their holdings. Now and then if a bunch of executives all distribute of some of their shares at one time, you are looking at a disastrous future.

You start to wonder, What do they know that I am not aware of? Be very wary of executives selling at or near their low points. That tells you the executives think their money is better somewhere else, and yours very well may be too.One more signal that a stock may be in dilemma is when a company abruptly discontinues its guidance toward the investment industry.

This may signal that the company has no idea or belief to have an idea of when earnings could come in. This may also have a slight signal in the way of product or service diversification. The company and its stockholders are in danger if the company cannot keep up with the accelerating market and/or does not come up with original, original products or services to keep up or stay at the forefront of the industry.

You do not want to invest in a company that is gambling all their funds on one horse.Keep an eye on industry trends as well. Sometimes the nature of the industry at that minute can impact that one company and its competitors at the same time. For example, General Motors, Chrysler and Ford all came down with the same sickness at the same time, due to the same amount overdue and the same mistakes.

That was the time all GM, Chrysler and Ford stockholders bailed at once, and correctly so. Investors with a sharp eye that receive good, up-to-date news and suggestions from a website like this one may be able to limit or prevent losses just by watching these early signs.

-----------------Learning to Trade Stocks---------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Learning to srade stocks is no easy matter. But it's not impossible. You have to set yourself out to spend some time to do research and to onitor your positions every once in a while. I have been trading stocks for over 15 years. I can remember my early years of trading.

I would get into a position and then when I saw that it was going against me, I would get out, often at the very wrong time. I say that because the next day or week the stock surpassed where I had bought it from.Learning to trade stocks requires some skill but it also requires you to shed some of your ingrained, inbred emotions.

It's these very emotions that caused me to sell stocks too early in by beginning days of trading. I have overcome these emotions now and I have a set of rules that I follow religiously. That doesn't mean that I can't change the rules of my system but I have to give myself a good reason to do so.

If I don't change my system than I stick to them. That is how I keep emotions out of the equation. The most important way to help yourself when learning to trade stocks is to come up with your own system and practice. But practicing with real money can be costly. Some people refer to this as your tuition but what if you could avoid putting real money on the line and still get the practice you need?

A way to do that is by a concept known as paper trading. Now, there are critics of paper trading that state that because you are not putting real money on the line you will not have the same kinds of emotions that you would had you put your hard earned cash in. They also state that you will not get the same kind of fills that you would when you trade for real.

There is some truth to these statements but it shouldn't stop you from pursuing paper trading because there are ways to reduce the aspects of paper trading that are criticized. To counter the first item, paper trading is still experience. Yes, the emotions are not the same but what you are really doing is trying to get a feel for whether your system is working or going to work.

The second item's counterpoint is if you take the midpoint of the bid and ask at any given time of the day or at the close, you would likely get filled at those levels had you traded real money. That's because it falls within the range of the bid/ask spread.
I have used this technique when trading for real and with the exception of super fast moving stocks, I almost always got filled.I think if you want to go about learning to trade stocks you need a system and you need to be able to practice trading.

You want to be able to do both of these without putting up a whole lot of capital (none if you can get away with it). One system that I have found that is indispensible and reliable is the CANSLIM method. This method has been helping people learning how to trade stocks to profit.

How Forex Money Management Protects Currency Traders----------------------------

One of the most essential ingredients of successful Forex trading is the unfailing use of money management techniques to minimize losses and protect your gains. Before you even begin laying out money and making trades, you'll want to decide on a set of Forex money management guidelines. Placing bets without any kind of safety net is irresponsible toward yourself and your family.Successful traders recommend that you start small and gain a gut-level grasp of the markets before moving on to bigger bets.

Hoping for a big score right at the beginning is the mark of a casino gambler, not an investor. The best advice:Keep your risk, right from the beginning, at about one percent or less of your total equity on any one trade. Keeping your risk low, in the one percent range, protects you if disaster strikes and you have a string of losses. You could actually survive 20 consecutive bad trades and still have 80 percent of your equity remaining. Taking tiny little one percent baby steps may seem boring, but it certainly beats being wiped out by a run of adverse trades.

It will ensure that you're still around to invest next week, next month and next year. It also helps you safely build confidence, judgment and experience. Many new Forex traders ask how much they should put into their trading account. The surest and wisest advice is never, ever bet your rent or grocery money. In other words, only use money you can afford to lose. Yes, I know that in your special case there aren't going to be any losses, and you're in a big hurry to make it big. But long experience says it's not going to happen that way for you either. If you were to lose everything you invest, would you and your family still eat okay? Would you still be in your home, or would you have to move into your brother-in-law's basement? Just think about this, okay?

It's important for you to know about the four stops. These are standard (and very wise) ways to prevent losses from ravaging your finances as you begin trading the Forex markets. You or your broker can use one or more of these four stops to protect your money.

1. Equity StopThis stop lets you decide beforehand how much you're prepared to risk on a single trade, and you won't risk anything beyond that percentage. A beginner may set the equity stop to one or two percent. Once you've gained considerable experience, you might eventually raise this to five percent, but never forget that at the 5% level, ten consecutive bad trades (not impossible) could wipe out half of your account.

Downside: This stop makes no allowance for positive fluctuations. The protection is strong, but if you never vary from it, you may miss out on some of the more profitable trades. When you're a newbie, the safety net it provides while you're learning is more important than any gains you might miss while you'e learning.

2. Chart StopThe trading charts that technical analysis provides can be accurate indicators of market movements. Technically minded traders who live, eat and breathe mathematics and probabilities often love chart stops. But the smart ones don't get reckless. They also include equity stops in their calculations.Downside: Generating charts and analyzing them can take significant time for newbies. This is time in which the market has moved on, leaving all that beautifully charted data a little (or a lot) outdated.

3. Volatility StopRelated to the chart stop but more complex, this one assigns risk values according to volatility rather than price action. Until you're experienced in Forex trading, it's best to leave this difficult technique to your broker. It's based on subtle and sophisticated evaluations of high versus low volatility of currency pairs and assigns greater or lesser risk to each market situation.Downside: Demands steady, unflinching nerves and a great deal of experience.

4. Margin StopWith the Margin Stop you're deciding beforehand that you'll get out of any trade before you're out of money. If you have ,000 in your account, setting your margin to 0 means you'll trade with the top textarea,500 but if your losses ever reach that amount, you'll close your position and preserve that last 0.Downside: It's hard to find a downside to the Margin Stop. You keep control of your account, even when using an account manager.Forex money management is essential when trading in the currency markets. And these stops are important backup measures to be used in tandem with your own patience, caution and growing judgment to minimize losses while maximizing your gains.

Reading a Forex Quote----------------------------------------------------------------------

Total newbies to the foreign exchange market can find reading a Forex quite intimidating (even baffling) at first. In fact, this is the most common initial hurdle. The quote is brief, but it packs in a great deal of useful information. And although it doesn't make a lick of sense to a newcomer, here's a quick, simple explanation of what it means.

A Forex quote is always based on a pair of currencies, where you're simultaneously selling one currency and buying another. And there are two prices, one for selling and the other for buying (bid price and ask price). When reading a Forex quote, it might typically look like this:

USD/JPY 106.52/56The first currency is called the base currency and the other is the quote currency. The base currency value is always 1 (in this case 1 US dollar). The number in the quote tells you how many of the quote currency (Japanese yen) you can buy with one US dollar. And that number - 106.52/56 - is a shortened version of two numbers (106.52 and 106.56).

The lower number is the bid price; the other is the ask price. The bid price shows how much a dealer will buy the base currency for. The ask price shows how much a dealer is willing to sell it for.If you saw 106.52/56 when reading a Forex quote, it would mean that you could sell US dollars and receive 106.52 yen per dollar.

On the other hand, if you wanted to buy US dollars, you would have to pay 106.56 yen for each dollar. The difference between the bid price and the ask price in a Forex quote is called the "spread," and each tiny 0.01 unit is called a "pip." In our example, the spread for our USD/JPY quote is four pips.

The spread for the most commonly traded currencies is usually that small. In general, you'll do most of your trading in US dollars, Japanese yen, Great Britain pounds, Euros, Swiss francs or Australian dollars. Also please keep in mind that when the competition really heats up some spreads will be as small as one pip.On the other hand, for less heavily traded currencies, you may run into much larger spreads. But don't think that a small spread means tiny profits (or losses).

When you're trading hundreds of thousands of units, even that one pip spread can mean big money.Let's say you're dealing with just 100 US dollars. Selling your hundred dollars for 10,652 yen and buying them for 10,656 yen only amounts to a four yen difference. But most Forex traders will be dealing with amounts of 100,000 US dollars (or many multiples).

So now we know, when reading a Forex quote, that even such an unimpressive little four-pip spread amounts to considerably more (at 4,000 yen, and probably several multiples of that). And of course, similar trades may be repeated throughout the day and the week. This means that anytime you're reading a Forex quote, you'll recognize that this tiny little spread is more important than its meager size at first suggests.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------Forex Day Trading Prospects

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Compared to Equities or Futures, it can be easily said that the Forex market has several advantages and benefits. And Forex being a 24-hour market gives Currency trading the biggest advantage ever. With no external control and a market open to all, Forex is the perfect currency trading platform to invest in. with the power in the hands of the currency traders, to choose any time of day to trade, whenever they want to, Forex trading basically puts the traders or investors in charge of how they want to trade and how much as well.

This is also because of the fact that Forex currency trading requires a very less amount of starting investment, which can easily enable a trader to open an account and start trading, unlike the cases in Stock Exchange and Futures market, where in, a fair amount of capital is required to start trading.

This facilitates trading for individuals or small traders, who can easily start trading small in the Forex market. Being a round the clock market, Forex day trading enables the investor to select any time to trade, whatever is more suitable to him/her. Allowing trading for 5 and a half days a week, 24 hours a day, provides Forex traders with incomparable freedom leaving the decision for currency trading in their hands, whenever they want to, and not when the market allows them.

The Forex market is known as the Day Trading market because of the reason that basically, it trails the sun going around the world, and shifting from one main economic or banking center to another, starting from the United States to Australia, to New Zealand to the Far East, and towards Europe and then, again back to the United States. With Forex, all through a trading day, the currency trading volume on the whole is established by two factors, one being which markets are open, and second being the time when every one of these Forex markets partly overlap one another.

The currency price at Forex day trading market, changes every second. One second a currency is up, the other second the other beats it to go high. Currency trading volume at Forex market remains high throughout, but it hits the highest point when the U.S, London and European markets are open, all at the same time, which only happens between the time periods of 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. by the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

As compared to the high volume of the U.S market, the level of the Pacific border markets, Japan and Hong Kong for instance, is quite low, but this still provides a Forex investor the opportunity to study and explore the vastly traded markets and currencies of the Pacific Region. With more than $2 trillions of money being traded every day, Forex market is indisputably the biggest fiscal or financial market in the whole world.

Here, the investors need to focus only on a few major currencies, rather than hundreds of equity or stocks. Forex market also is known for its fair costs and thin spreads. Furthermore, Forex market has high levels of liquidity as compared to any other financial market and this is what makes Currency trading market the biggest economic market in the whole world.

This liquidity largely comes from the banks which provide liberal cash flow to individual investors, companies and trade houses. And since the Forex market is a 24 hour market, the currency exchange trading experiences superior liquidity around the clock, as compared to the stock market, which contains a limited time period for high liquidity.

The instant trading through various means of communication such as phone and internet makes Forex day trading an instant trading business alongside making it a global trading platform. With such high levels of liquidity, round the clock trading and steady trading prospects, Forex currency exchange market is undoubtedly one of the most profitable and potential business sectors.

Another basic benefit offered by the Forex market is that it is a no-commission market. With this free of commission trading, an investor gets to keep whole of the profit that he has earned through a day’s trading at the market.
Keeping 100% of the profit is indeed a great deal for any trader today! Taking advice from proficiently experienced Forex brokers will get you standard features like 100:1 leverage and regulated FCM status along with commission-free trading, to make your trading experience more professional.

Trade Secret-----
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Traders spend years trying to discover the so called “Trade Secret”. A secret known to just a few other traders, which can turn them into a billionaire, overnight!
There is no such thing as a “Trade Secret”, which can make someone rich overnight. This is because of the fact that in the Forex market, Change is the only thing permanent! Every instant is only one of its kinds. Traders should work on discovering a Forex trading system that suits their own individuality and behavior, so that they can easily follow it.
Go for the thrill--------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forex, Currencies and Fiscal matters have always attracted people by being an unpredictable, yet, challenging and exciting arena to explore. People are hence, attracted to becoming a Trader.
But if exploration and adventure are the only reasons for certain traders to join trading in the Forex market, they are soon about to realize how costly this quest turns out for them.
What’s Money Management?-------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A significant characteristic of any form of trading is the finances. Some people feel that they need to think about money management only when they have sufficient amount of profitable cash in hand. What they forget is that the trading involves a huge amount of risk in it too.
Only when a trader trades keeping in mind money management, it lets his profits to enhance systematically, while limiting his risk with each trade. Money management lets a trader know, how much he can afford to lose.
Easy Money------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Easy money is also one of the most common reasons why people are attracted towards Forex market and trading. As seen on television or movies, they believe it easily when heroes turn into millionaires with just one bet.
Seeing along with it, how easy it is to trade, people want to become traders and invest whatever little they can afford, just to become rich easily.
Indeed it is easy to trade and the market is open for anyone who wants to come in and trade. But the main reason to enter into the market is to make money, an aspect of Forex trading which is not easy at all.
Making profits or accomplishing constant profits is a hard nut to crack in reality. It is something that needs and involves a lot of learning, persistence, restraint, dedication, and lots of other qualities, which are not that easy to keep up with.
EDUCATION...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Education makes the foundation for any business, service or job or any other discipline, to be successful. Full knowledge about a matter one is dealing in, helps his/her understand in depth, what needs to be done.
Trading too, necessitates its traders to have thorough study and knowledge about the stream. Experience is of valuable significance here. Anyone with a high level of expertise or experience in the trading market can guide a new trader correctly. Although, one needs to beware of some experts who might get a newbie going on the wrong side of it all.
Market is a teacher in itself, teaching everyday to a number of traders on what should have been done in a particular situation. Education, in terms of currency trading can take as many years as one can think of.
The market can prove any expert wrong at any point. So it is always said in terms of the market, that the learning never ends here!
Mental adjustment ---
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Considered as one of the most undervalued issue when talking about trading matters and market, Mental adjustment is one of the main matters to be kept in mind when entering or deciding about entering into the trading world.
So many psychological issues such as ego, greed, proud, to name a few come into the picture when traders trade with each other. All these issues are a matter of significance as they determine whether to make or mar a deal.
Above mentioned are some of the most common hurdles and shortcomings faced by the traders, new and old, everyday.
It is not easy to trade. What one needs is the skill, education, patience, perseverance and the right kind of attitude to deal with any situation whatsoever, sportingly......

Why "Follow-Through" Is Imperative For Your Market Position
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great men frequently advise to be consistent in big changes of market tendencies and "Follow Through" in breakthroughs. If you have made a price change one day and you get success out of it then you should continue your endeavors in the same route in coming days and this trading movement is called the "Follow Through".But this kind of breakthrough is not that much simple. Market does not accept big changes frequently.
It goes back over those trends present previously in the trade and at the end of the day when all is going to end, forex prices repeat the same trend seen some days before.Nobody is a faultless and ideal merchant. All the brokers and traders constantly discover a lot about the trading and aim not to repeat their past mistakes and blunders.
I can give you many instances about my learning and it all happens when you don't show patience and consistency. When you don't wait and take a great step thinking it would be a huge success, but it is not all what we think.I was planning about the corn market and had a keen eye on it for a long time. I was waiting and hanging around for the market to show a big change in a persistent downside trend of the prices and counteract it. One day there appeared a little upside move in the corn price but was not near to counteract it.
I was out of my workplace for coming days and was unable to meet my broker or the info about the rates. I made a call to my dealer and ordered corn for a buy-stop at a price which was much higher than the downside trend. It did so because I thought if it worked, it would be a very tough change in the price to counteract the constant downside trend and it will indicate an uphill breakthrough in the every day price bar map.
That day I had some jinx and blip in my mind which was disapproving my decision and asking me to take time and "follow through" the price tendency to make the price break sure. Next morning the corn's price inclination was high enough to strike my end and made me "in" the market. But it was not for a long time. Corn rates again overturned and threw my corn prices out soon. The perception after observation is always true. But this mistake taught me the significance of patience and consistency to give the market enough time to indicate follow through movement to make a prospective trading arrangement sure.
But a dealer also has some risk of absence and getting advantage of a big price change if he keeps on waiting. But it is more sensible to be cautious and wait for the market to verify the follow through movements in the coming days.Sometimes market shows a relaxing session in the price movement and then verifies the great changes in the coming days. But mostly the follow through movement is going to come in the next session if expected.

Knowing the Ins and Outs of Chandelier Exit....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever heard of a stop placement strategy that trails stop based on previous 'high' points? It is called Chandelier exit as it hangs down from the high point or the ceiling of our trade, just as a chandelier hangs from a room ceiling. The distance, which is usually calculated from the high point to the trailing stop; could also be calculated in dollars or in contract based points.
However, the value of this trailing stop moves upward very promptly as higher highs is reached. The Chandelier Exit, which has a trailing stop from either the highest high of the trade or the highest close of the trade, is best measured in units of Average True Range (ATR). One of the many factors leading to use ATR for measuring the distance from the high to our stop is that, it is pertinent across markets and is adaptive to changes in unpredictability.
The essence of this calculative measure is that, even on expansion and contraction of trading ranges, our stop will automatically adjust and move to the apt level, thereby, constantly staying in tune with changing market conditions. Chandelier Exit is one of the most tried exit methodology used across a varied portfolio of futures markets to generate profitable test results. It is imperative that the changes in unpredictability can curtail or stretch the distance to the actual stop, since the highs used to hang the Chandelier move only upward. However, in order to witness less fluctuation in the stop distance, you can use a longer moving average to calculate Average True Range.
In other ways, shorter moving average is required, in case you want the stop placement to be more adaptive to fluctuating market conditions. When short averages for the ATR is used; brief periods of small ranges can bring the stops too close, abnormally resulting in premature exit. To avoid this, you can have a short and highly adaptive ATR while calculating a short average and a longer average and using the average that produces the widest stop.Although Chandelier Exit differs from Channel Exit (which trails a stop based on previous 'low' points), the combination of both, where the trade is initialized by the trailing Channel Exit and then adding the Chandelier Exit, after the price has moved away from the entrance point, will help in making the open trade lucrative. Here the Channel Exit is fastened at a low point and does not move up as new profits are accomplished.
At the same time, it is necessary to have the Chandelier Exit at the right position so that the exits are never too far away from the high point of the trade. The fundamentals behind combining the exit techniques, Channel and Chandelier exit is that, while Channel Exit as a suitable stop that very steadily rises at the commencement of the trade, switching over to Chandelier Exit is necessary to ensure better exit that protects more of our profit. This feature makes Chandelier Exit one of the most sought after rational exits from the profitable trades......

How to develop a profitable forex trading strategy......
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before you plunge into one of the most liquid, unpredictable and profitable markets in the world, there are some things that you should know about before putting your money in the hands of a forex broker. When money is involved, there are a lot of things you should consider, and these are the key to developing the best Forex strategy, for you to start making a profit. For instance, there is a great deal of money management that must be put in place before you run off with a lot of hope in your pocket.
Hope is not going to pay the bills. Your money is and you need to know when and how much of your money you are going to use.Always set yourself some realistic targets and limits to ensure that you do not spend too much money. Also, do not fall prey to the gambling endemic that is afflicting many Forex traders - this means they simply cannot stop trading no matter how much they loose and they often make irrational decisions in order to 'win' back the money that they have lost.
Set yourself some parameters and stick to them, you will regret the fact that you account has run dry and you start to owe the brokerage a sum of money. Also, always have some risk capital on hand so that when things do go wrong, you will be able to bail yourself out. The total sum of your investment and risk capital should be an amount that you are able to afford.Nobody should go into trading with their life savings in tow.
The capital you put into the commodities market should be capital you can spend and if you do lose, will not have an adverse affect on your life style. That said, Forex trading is all about watching market patterns and market psychology. Unlike normal and traditional commodities trading, many people would say that the Forex market falls into a pattern when it comes to either a crisis or an upheaval within currencies.
Issues like inflation, political violence and economic decisions can adversely affect the performance of the currency pair you have chosen. But there is always a pattern and this pattern is the structure of many trading strategies of experienced investors. For example, you must learn that there are many 'safe' currencies in the market that investors flock to when there is wind of a calamity in global economies.
This is just one aspect.Market psychology is ruled by major decisions my collective moves in the market. Because of the fact that huge multicontinental banks are the biggest driving forces within the FX market, they have pre planned moves when situations come up. Your job as an investor is to read the signs and react accordingly.
The good thing about Forex is that is a very liquid market, so you can pull out any time you want - or on the flip side can invest in a click of a mouse. With these in mind when investing, you will have the key to developing the best Forex trading strategy.....

Successful Forex Rading System.......................
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forex trading system is the subsystem of the forex trading plan which governs when and at which price you open and close your trades. A trading system works on the signals given by technical analysis and/or fundamental analysis. The signals are taken to see if the trader should buy or sell a specific currency pair or must close the open position(s).
Any currency trading system prevents information overload by filtering out the universe of technical and/or fundamental signals in such a way that only the most reliable (successful in the past) signals or signal combinations are acted upon.
There are two kinds of trading systems - the discretionary and the mechanical. Discretionary trading systems expect the trader to use his or her own judgement to ascertain the importance of each of the technical or fundamental signals (whose number is potentially infinite) that he or she gets.
Mechanical trading systems operate on a fixed number of technical or fundamental signals without the participation of the trader. Discretionary trading systems require the perpetual application of creativity (flexibility of approach) from the trader in the understanding of the changing market conditions.
Mechanical trading systems require the creativity from the trader only in the forex system development phase.Discretionary forex trading systems are best employed by professional forex traders with a lot of experience (internalized practical market knowledge) against which they can determine the validity of any signal that they receive.
These traders usually remember a large number of various signal patterns from the past (just like the master chessmen) that they can compare to the current market conditions, to make their analysis more objective. In essence, they use themselves (i.e. their brain) as their trading system - often very successfully - because human mind has the best pattern recognition power on the planet.
Starting currency traders are advised to begin by following professionally created mechanical forex trading systems. Most of these systems are sold-out in the form of the forex signals that are usually developed by experienced traders who have found a way to systemize their knowledge of the markets into a working strategy.
At the same time, the beginning traders can work on building their own knowledge base of the forex market through the quality forex books, educational courses, bank reports and newswires on this subject -so that they can too, with time, create mechanical trading systems from their own insights and intuitions (using the forex charting packages which allow to do this).Beginning without a proven mechanical forex trading system (that has positive mathematical expectation) drastically dilutes the chances of maintaining the capital.
This is because any intuition or a hunch that the traders experience as a result of some newly gained knowledge of the forex market is likely to be overridden by one of the two emotional derivatives of their life-long programming towards the money - the greed and the fear.
In other words, without exact adherence to an existing mechanical trading system the beginning trader will eventually succumb to his or her emotions. As a matter of fact, the only way the traders can acquire discipline in the early phases of their trading careers is by tight following the signals generated by a proven mechanical forex trading system.
Note: Neural Network Packages (e.g. NeuroShell) emulate the process of human learning and can be used to accumualte the knowledge of the past technical and/or fundamental signal patterns (just like the mind of professional forex traders does) for the purpose of the future currency price forecasting.
Quote: "A mechanical approach to the markets can be successful and this is backed up by the fact that approximately 80% of the $30 billion in the managed futures industry is traded by exact systematic methods", from the "The Ultimate Trading Guide" by John R. Hill, George Pruitt, and Lundy Hill.
2.2. Components of a Forex Trading System.A regular forex trading system consists of two subsystems - the entry system and the exit system. These systems can operate on a different or the same set of inputs. The inputs can be technical or fundamental signals.A system consists of a number of rules which interpret the signals that it receives.
The entry system evaluates the signals to determine if and at which level the positions should be opened. The exit system evaluates the signals to determine if and at which level the open positions should be closed. The propose of an entry system is to find market points which allow to open positions with high potential reward and low potential risk (high reward-to-risk ratio). The risk is defined as the pip distance from the entry price to the next support or resistance level lying opposite to the entry direction (above entry for sell and below entry for buy).
The reward is defined as the pip distance from the entry price to the next support or resistance level lying in the direction of the entry (above entry for buy and below entry for sell). It is generally advised that the traders accept only the trades with the reward-to-risk ratio of over 2 (e.g. risk=60 pips, reward=130 pips).
All the same, depending on the accuracy of a trading system (i.e. the percentage of the winning trades of all the past trades) this requirement might be shifted to a lower or a higher value without sacrificing the profitability of the system. This is because the true measure of the long term profitability of a forex trading system is neither the average per-trade reward-to-risk ratio nor the accuracy of the system but the combination of these two measures which is calculated as the mathematical expectation of a trading system.
In the absence of the accuracy measure of a trading system (as is the case with some discretionary trading systems) - the trader ought strive to find entries with the greatest possible reward-to-risk ratio.Note: Elliott wave analysis allows to find entries with extremely high reward-to-risk ratios (e.g. just check some of reports on MTPredictor's site).
It is worth noting that MTPredictor automatically calculates the reward-to-risk ratios and helps to find optimum entry points based on these ratios. Some Elliot wave software developers (e.g. Advanced Get) also supply their subscribers with detailed Elliott wave trading plans. The aim of an exit system is to protect the capital base and the unrealized profits.
The capital base is shielded by ensuring that the trades are exited with a fixed loss when the reasons for holding them are no longer valid. This is done by triggering a stop-loss order on your forex brokerage account when the price crosses the level which defined your risk at the entry. If you are a discretionary trader, forcing yourself to place the slop-loss on each trade and to stick to it no matter what will make you very selective about your entries - which ought increase your profitability.
The unrealized profits are protected either by a take-profit order which is triggered on your brokerage account when the price reaches the level which defined your profit at the entry or with the help of the trailing stop-loss which gradually locks in more profits as the price moves in your favour.
In fact, the trailing stop-loss exit can be more suitable than the fixed take-profit exit if you wish to profit from the extending "character" of some impulse waves. In such a event the trailing stop-loss can be placed just a few pips opposite to the trendline which defines impulse wave. There is one more type of exit which can be used to protect the trader from missing trading opportunities - the time exit.
A time exit is triggered if a trade hasn't reached either its stop-loss or take-profit level in the specified period of time. Exiting such trades reduces the chances that the capital will be tied up when better opportunities appear on the other currency pairs.
Note: Most forex newswires (e.g. Marketnews) are a great source of real-time information on the location of the major support and resistance levels and clusters of large orders that are watched by professional forex traders and which can be used to manually update the position of your trailing stop-loss.
2.3. Development of a Currency Trading System.Making a mechanical forex trading system involves a number of steps:
1) Selecting the inputs for the trading system - technical analysis or fundamental analysis tools which will generate the signals for the system;
2) Developing the rule-set which will operate on these signals;
3) Optimizing the parameters of the analysis tools used to produce the signals;
4) Backtesting and forwardtesting the system over historical price data. Each of these steps is covered in more detail below:
2.3.1. Selecting the Inputs for the Trading SystemIt is important to base your selection of inputs to the system on a sensible premise about the way the currency markets operate. As an example, you can use 200-day moving average to determine if the market is in a long-term up or down trend because a large proportion of professional forex traders use this technical tool to measure market trendiness.
It is also better to combine technical analysis tools of different type and scale because this increases the chances of finding high-probability entry points (those that are likely to be followed by sharp currency price moves in your favour), which should, in turn, contribute to the overall system accuracy.
If you use technical tools only on the higher time-frame charts like the daily or the weekly charts this will increase the duration of the trades and the time periods out of the market - because the signals will take longer to form. Either of these outcomes can have detrimental impact on the trader and investor morale during the inevitable losing streaks as is shown by our forex trading simulator (Please note: The size of this page is 0,6 Mbs and it requires that you have Flash installed and Javascript enabled in your browser).
which can last longer than they are naturally prepared to wait. This makes it important to focus on lower time-frame charts (e.g. hourly charts) for signal generation which will lead to shorter trade durations and, consequently, to quicker recoveries from the drawdowns. Shorter trade durations can also help to the trader to defeat the temptation to overtrade because he or she can expect to see the next entry signal in the next couple of days - not in the next couple of weeks.Quote: "Your freedom to choose your time-frame is too valuable to lose. Investors and margined speculators, on the other hand, can choose their own time-frames. This is one of their positional advantages, to use a favourite notion of Larry Hite* , one of the founders of Mint Investment Corp* - one of the largest of the futures fund operators.
Investors and speculators can choose. Obviously it makes sense to choose time frames which match any natural rhythms that can be discerned in the currency markets." John Percival in his book "The Way of the Dollar".
Note: If you are using the Elliott Wave analysis your average holding period will depend on the degree of the impulse or corrective waves that you are trading.Choosing which fundamental factors are best for your forex trading system (e.g. as inputs to your neural network) can be very hard because the effect of various economic indicators on the currency prices changes with time.
In other words, the strength of correlation between the price of a currency pair and the fundamental factors relevant to it is not fixed (even with interest rate differentials). In contrast, the relationship between the price patterns (especially the classical price patterns) and trader psychology (the driving force behind most important price moves) remains fairly stable over the years.
This is the reason why the forex traders are encouraged to dedicate most of their efforts to building trading systems around the technical analysis.Another all-important question is the time horizon of the prediction that the trader is trying to make with his system. Better not to try to forecast currency prices too far into the future.
This is because the number and the complexity of interaction of various technical and fundamental factors rises geometrically with each trading day. It is, therefore, best to "leave" this task to high-end investment banks and houses which alone have the capacity to perform the necessary calculations inherent in longer-term currency course forecasting.
It is more practical for the typical currency trader to concentrate on capturing the so-called "knee-jerk" market reactions driven by crowd emotionalism through the analysis of the current technical or fundamental conditions.
Quote: "Rule 5: Be prepared for anything don't try to predict what will happen or when. Investing is a skill, not a science. The Zen swordsman dicsniplines body and mind to counter any blow spontaneously; he does not anticipate the moves of an opponent, for that impedes his ability to react. Likewise, professional investors know they cannot control the real estate or stock market, let alone the global economy. Instead, they train themselves to be financially intelligent, to think confidently and creatively when opportunities or problems arise.
" one of the The Seven Rules of Investing given in Robert Kiyosaki's book "You Can Choose to Be Rich".You should also try not to include too many indicators (over 12) in your forex trading system. This is because probability that the system will perform like it did in the past diminishes as you add more indicators to your system.
As a rule, the larger the number of indicators in your system the longer the period of historical currency price data you need to backtest the system on.
Note: There is no necessity to learn all the available indicators and technical analysis methods before you can start creating your own robust trading systems. It is usually enough to master just a few "basic" technical indicators and formations to start combining them to identify high probability entry and exit points.
The fundamental and technical reports issues by the investment banks are one of the best sources of information on which technical and/or fundamental signals are watched by the professional trading community that you can include in your forex trading system.
In the long run it is best to stick to a sound forex trading strategy, that has high probability of being profitable in the long-run, than to dissipate your capital among a variety of "promising" methods.
2.3.2. Developing the Rule-Set which will Operate on the SignalsYou can create these rules based on your observation of how the prices move in relation to various technical and fundamental indicators. For example, you might notice that currency prices tend to resume trending behaviour after they correct toward and touch 200-day moving average.
You can use this observance to formulate a rule which will enter the markets when the prices bounce off from the 200-day moving average. You could also notice that the prices tend to stop trending when they touch the outer daily Bollinger bands. You can use this information to create a rule which will exit the trades once the prices penetrate the outer daily Bollinger Band. Because making rule-sets for mechanical trading systems forces you to quantify your insights about the market this practice aids to clarify them.
The rule-set of a forex trading system is in essence the clarified version of the weighing algorithms that you naturally create in your mind as you learn the technical and fundamental analysis and observe the price action. I say "weighing" because most of the technical rules are transcribed in your mind as fuzzy patterns (e.g. "The longer the shadows of a doji the more likely the reversal" or "The steeper the trendline - the more bullish or bearish the market sentiment.").
When you make the trading system, you transfer your knowledge to the computer in the form that can be understood by it. Admittedly, the quality of the computerized model very often will fall short of the actual mental model that you keep in your head. Nevertheless, the real advantage of the "mechanicizing" your market knowledge is the power to objectively determine the validity of your trading ideas by the process of the backtesting.
It should be noted that the closest the computers approach to simulating the complexity of human comprehension of the market patterns is in the neural network packages.Neural network packages can be especially effective if you wish to model your way of weighing the strength of support or resistance levels. For example, if you believe that fibonacci retracements are more reliable entry points if they are confirmed by reversal candlestick patterns and/or RSI divergence you can "ask" a neural network to search for past occurrences of this pattern combination and determine the actual numeric weight that should be placed on each of these technical signals for the entry or exit to occur.
This process is very advantageous because it allows the computer to extend your natural pattern recognition ability by perfecting (or objectifying) the weights associated with each technical input/signal. This way you can objectively measure the strength or the beauty of the technical setups that you encounter in your trading (e.g. the resultant model might require the position to be opened if the total sum of signal weighs is bigger than 0,5 where a reversal candlestick signal is "worth" 0,15, fibonacci retracement is "worth" 0,3 and the RSI divergence is "worth" 0,45).
In essence, your forex trading system is the description of how beautiful your trading setups should be, where "beauty" is defined as the convergence of confirming signals from different type and/or scale technical analysis tools. Advanced users of the neural networks can go even further by tying the position size (within the maximum percentage value set by their money management system) to the strength or the beauty of the technical setup. If done decently this practice will allow them to make the most of the best trading opportunities while simultaneously reducing the exposure on the less promising setups.
Meta4: An fascinating parallel to weighing the signals in order to determine if the position should be taken or not is the way people fall in love. Each individual carries a certain number of unconscious or semi-conscious qualifiers that "describe" in more or less fuzzy terms the appearance, the character, the temperament of their likely mate.
When you meet the person who posses enough of these traits (i.e. above some "threshold" or unconscious minimum) the cascade of the confirming signals sets your mind off into the love state. A similar process occurs in the mind of discretionary trader when the market action through all of its technical and/or fundamental signals (i.e. "when all the pieces fit") activates the hunch or intuition response from him or her.
If you compare the brain of a discretionary trader to a neural network the hunch finds its direct expression in the output neuron. The similarity between the process of falling in love and experiencing a hunch is probably behind such market advices as "do not marry your trades" or "do not fall in love with your trades". To stretch the similarity further we can compare a stop-loss order to the practice employed by some of the married couples called the "boundary".
The boundary is the some form of behaviour unacceptable to the other spouse which if violated will lead to the end of relationship. Yet another analogue is between adding to a losing position and trying to win a favour of an unloving partner - the more you invest the harder it is to let go and the more likely you are to end up destroyed financially (emotionally in the relationships).
As a final comparison the neural networks allow to model the connections among the ideas in the human mind in a similar way that a website through all its external and internal links permits to express the specific mental idea-network of its creator.
Quote: "I use all forms of technical analysis, but interpret them through gut feel. I do not believe in mathematical systems that always approach markets in the same way. Using myself as the "system," I constantly change the input to achieve the same output—profit!", Mark Weinstein in Jack D. Schwager's book "Market Wizards".Note: It should be marked that the effectiveness of your model will always be only as good as the inputs that you give or "feed" to it (as someone said - "Garbage in, garbage out").
This is because computers merely extend your pattern recognition ability and cannot be relied upon to think up a winning system on their own - if this was false, the markets would have been cornered long ago by the guy with the most powerful computer.
2.3.3. Optimizing the Parameters of the Analysis Tools used to Produce the SignalsSome forex charting packages (e.g. TradeStation) permit to optimize the parameters of the technical indicators that you use in your forex trading system. Optimization allows to find parameter values of your indicators that result in the biggest profit (most frequently used measure of system performance in optimization) from the trading system over the past data. An good example of the optimization is looking for the best time-period parameters for a two-moving-averages crossover system.
Commonly the periods of two moving averages are stepped from 1 to 50 in steps of 1 and the trading results for each of around 250 moving average combinations are recorded and then sorted to find the most profitable combination. Such process of going though all possible parameter combinations is called brute force optimization. As the number of indicators used in your system increases arithmetically the number of potential parameter combinations increases geometrically.
The total number of parameter combinations is, therefore, said to be subject to combinatorial explosion. For example, to optimize a system with 5 indicators each of which has 50 different parameter values you would have to cycle through 312 500 000 (50^5) possible parameter combinations. The only way you can expect to quickly solve such huge optimization problems in your lifetime is through the use of generic optimizers (e.g. OptEvolve for the TradeStation or NeuroShell Trader Professional).
Optimization of the time-period parameter of the cycle-based indicators like Stochastics permits to automatically adapt them to the cycles present in the market instead of using the default time-period values - which is the method originally used by the developer of Stochastics. As a final note, try not to over optimize your indicators because majority of the professional forex traders use default indicator settings.
You are looking for trading setups where the smart money will be acting (as opposed to the general investor public) so it doesn't make much practical sense to use indicator settings that hardly any professional forex trader is aware of.
2.3.4. Backtesting and Forwardtesting the System over Historical Price Data.Backtesting allows to see how your system would have performed if it was run during some period in the past. You optimize indicator parameters using the price data in the backtesting period. It is crucial that the time period that you backtest your system on is representative of the currency pair that you wish to trade - it should include all types of market conditions (trending, rangebound) and it should be as recent as possible.
Once you are comfortable with the performance of your system you forward test it - you run it on the out-of-sample price data (the price data that would be immediate future to the backtesting period). This way you can see if the system is able to perform likewise to the way it did during the backtesting.
The closer the system's performance during the forward testing is to its performance during the backtesting the more robust the system and the more assured you can be that it will continue to trade in a similar manner during the real-time trading. You could also wish to trade your system on a forex demo account for some time before beginning to trade it with the real money.Backtesting aids the trader or investor to determine if they are prepared psychologically for the live trading of a forex trading system.
By examiningthe past performance of a system they can decide if the size of the drawdown, the number of the consecutive losses and the average duration of the trades are acceptable for them. For the complete list of the performance measures that you could wish to review before starting to trade with professionally-created mechanical trading systems please visit the forex signals page. In contrast to the mechanical trading systems the discretionary trading systems cannot be backtested because the discretionary traders cannot guarantee that they will react to a similar set of signals in the future in the same manner that they did in the past.
2.4. Implementation of a Forex Trading System. There are two ways you can implement a forex trading system - either manually or automatically. Discretionary trading systems can only be followed by the manual placing of the trades. Mechanical trading systems are better followed though the use of automation. If you are following a discretionary trading system you will be generally screening the currency markets for the signals that you have outlined in your checklist. The checklist is the description of the technical or fundamental trading signals that your trading system's rule-set operates on.
The checklist could also contain the guidelines on how often you should check your forex charts/forex newswires for the signals (using the economic news calendar provided by the forex newswires as your fundamental signal timing tool); in contrast, the mechanical forex trading systems will be going through their own checklists with every second, 24 hours a day - which no human being can possibly do. Having a elaborate checklist will help you to be more disciplined in the application of your system. It is better to write your checklist in the form of the questionnaire.
You can automate your search for some technical signals with the help of those forex charting packages which allow you to set up the sound or email/SMS alerts to notify you whenever the technical signal of your interest is generated (e.g. in Intellicharts). The forex bank reports and the forex newswires frequently issue mini reports of technical conditions on the market which most often are merely the "filled-in" versions of the same checklist.Manual implementation of the mechanical signals is NOT recommended.
Since the signals are generated by the computer you will always feel compelled to double-check them against you own experience - since no computer can model your thinking with 100% accuracy. This can lead to the delays and/or missing of some of the signals which can potentially undermine the system profitability, that rests on the principle of taking each signal exactly at the time it is generated. A lot is being said about the widespread lack of the discipline in taking the signals of the mechanical forex trading systems.
This trouble can be easily overcome though the use of a reliable signal automation service. You solve all emotional troubles associated with the manual trading of the signals by simply automating this process. Elimination of the emotions from the trading through the use of the automated mechanical forex trading systems should explain their popularity amidst the multi-billion dollar hedge fund industry. An crucial aspect of mechanical system trading is the monitoring of its real-time performance.
The concealed market dynamics (a particular way of reacting to technical or fundamental signals that an important grouping of forex market participants shares - or, systematic mass investor impulsiveness) that your system has captured during the back-testing may be switching or might already have changed at the time you start to trade your system with the real money. The single way you can say that the market dynamics that you are focusing on have changed or not is to compare the real-time and the past system perofrmance. If the system continues to perform like it did on the backtesting then you can conclude that the market dynamics it targets have not yet changed.
If you notice important deviations in such system performance measures like the maximum peak-to-valley drawdown, the average duration of trades, the average value of the profits/losses, the maximum number of consecutive winners/losses, it can signal that an important shift in market dynamics is taking place (e.g. a group of investment banks have modified their trading models).
The fastest way to update your system to the changes in market dynamics is available for the neural network packages - which allow to retrain your model over the most recent price history. Retraining a neural network involves readjusting its matrix of weighs which allows it to stay attuned to the current market conditions.
If mechanical trading systems suffer form the paradigm shifts on the market - the same can be said of the human mind (discretionary trading systmes) which tends to be very inflexible once a partciluar way of doing things (i.e. trading style) is ingrained in it.2.5. Mastering System Trading. To master system trading you ought have the patience to wait calmly for the entry or the exit signal from your own forex trading system and act only on them - irregardless of the technical or fundamental conditions that you see in-between these signals.
It is no wonder why the best traders prefer to compare themselves to skilful predators when they describe their trading style:Quote: "Top traders love the hunting metaphor to describe what they do. One of them, for example, claims he is like a cheetah. The cheetah can outrun any animal, but it still stalks its prey. It won't attack until it is right on top of its prey. In addition, the cheetah usually waits for a weak or lame animal to get close.
Another top trader told me that he trades like a lion. He watches the herd for weeks until something other than his presence causes the herd to panic. When the herd panics, he then chases a weak or lame animal that appears most confused. The difference between an average hunter and a really skilled animal like the swift cheetah or the cunning lion is that the skilled hunter waits until the odds are overwhelmingly in his favor", from "The Ten Tasks of Top Trading" by Van K. Tharp.
Quote: "Much of the time, even professionals don't have a clear picture of what is going on, but they have learned to have the patience to wait for select, specific setups. You must learn to trade on only the most recognizable and reliable patterns." from the "Street Smarts: High Probability Short-Term Trading Strategies".The most important rule of systematic trading is to take each and every trading signal that your system generates.
Only by taking all the signals at the time they are generated can you count on replicating the past performance of your system. If you have the slightest suspicion that you will not be able to take all the signals - either due to the timing of the signals or your busy schedule - you should arrange for the signals to be automatically traded.
At the end of the day, a forex trading system just like the money management system serves to protect yourself from your own destructive tendencies which very often mask themselves as the "well-meaning" hunches and gut responses. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't trust your instincts - only that you should base your trades on them only if you can eliminate emotions from your decisions.
This is because a trading system is a method to profit from other traders' emotional instability, therefore, if you do not control your own emotions you will not be able to profit from any system. Removing the emotions from your manual trading can take years (!!!)- so it can be more practical and profitable to simply autotrade your system.Even if you start your currency trading career by following a professionally created forex trading system you will receive full satisfaction from the trading - in terms of profit and self-actualization - only if you make and trade a successful system of your own. One of the best books which can help you to start this fascinating journey is "Mechanical Trading Systems: Pairing Trader Psychology with Technical Analysis" by Richard L. Weissman.
